Hi Friends! I’ve been a bit silent on the blog lately, but spending lots of time at the barn, in the garden, and in the woods, soaking up this beautiful spring weather. Though it's nearly impossible to choose, May might be my favorite month of the year. Misty mornings, the magical fragrance of blossoms drifting on the breeze, golden afternoons, the trill of birds, rosy sunsets...the whole world seems to burst with new life. By the second and third weeks of May, snowy blossoms emerged from pink-tinted buds on the apple trees around our backyard meadow and in the old apple orchard. The blooms lasted for a few brief but spectacular days, transforming the quiet meadow into an ethereal wonderland, perfect for a springtime pony pal photoshoot...and thankfully Esther and Harry were willing to help me... Harry is a gem of a pony. He was my childhood mount, trustworthy and reliable, with the sweetest, gentlest personality but enough feisty spirit to teach me how to ride. Esther outgrew her miniature horse, Harvest, and over the past year, has moved up to riding Harry. She's worked hard over the past several months and despite some ups and downs, she's persevered and is growing into quite the little horsewoman. Combined with Harry's beautiful flaxen mane and tail, cute pinto coloring, and flashy movement, they make a talented team, besides the fact that they're just plain adorable. Cuteness overload in my totally unbiased opinion. ;) Aren't those blossoms stunning? I can't get over how much beauty and detail is in every single bloom. Especially in this time of chaos and uncertainty, I was reminded of the promise of spring and the hope of a new tomorrow. The trees are fragrant with snowy blossoms, the fresh morning breeze carries the notes of songbirds, the brook gurgles from freshly fallen rain, the hayfields sway a brilliant green, and sunlight dances among the flowers. The smile of a sister and the nicker of a beloved pony melt into the chorus of spring, reminding me to savor the beauty of today and find hope in the promise of tomorrow. Thanks so much for reading! Remember to keep seeking joy in Jesus...
