Happy summer! Last week marked the first official week of that sweet season of sunshine and long days, where the sun wakes early and glows late, melting into the night as the flourishing earth soaks up every last glimmer. Morning hikes, afternoons in the garden, bright hours at work, cooling off in the pool, riding through the hayfields, sunset gazing over the lake, there is something about the warmth and golden glow of summer that promises hope. Hope for strength today and change tomorrow and peace in eternity. While I don’t want to lose myself in the bliss of summer and live blind to the turmoil that surrounds me, the glow of endless summer days reminds me of the goodness of my Savior to bring light into the darkness.
