Hi Friends! For me, the silver lining to the struggles of quarantine has definitely been all the time spent outside. Whether I’m hiking beside the brook, running through the dunes, or cantering through the trees, the beauty of God’s creation never ceases to amaze me. I’ve been taking lots nature/still life photos (sunrise is my favorite time to take pictures - the golden light is perfect) as well as a few self portrait sessions, but my little sis was willing to help me out with a few shoots, so I’d thought I’d share some highlights of one of those today. This one was a bit impromptu. We were enjoying some lovely sister time (she was teaching me how to play Mastermind) when I noticed a vibrant halo of light glowing on the woods to the east. Looking west through the trees, I caught glimpses of a dazzling gold sky over the hayfields. It had been cloudy and rainy on and off throughout the day, but now the sun was setting in all its brilliance and we just couldn’t stay inside. Esther and I agreed to go for a bareback ride in the sunset (personally, I think it’s one of the loveliest things to do). I grabbed my camera and she grabbed her cowgirl hat. Need I say more? The sun was stunning, sending dazzling rays over the fields, making them ablaze with gold. I just love how that same golden light bounced off the highlights in Esther's hair and caught the sparkle in her eyes. These weren’t posed or planned, but I love that they capture the spontaneity and joy of the moment. Remember to share a little bit of joy this week! Thanks for reading. :)
