Hello Dear Friends! I hope and pray that you all had a blessed, joy-filled Christmas season. I’ve been rather quiet these past few weeks, working hard to finish classes and then enjoying the start of break, with later nights, catching up with friends, slower mornings, afternoon rides, and of course - celebrating the beautiful Gift of Jesus this Christmas. Events over this past week reminded me that this world is broken and hurting and aching and groaning and desperately in need of Jesus. But even in the midst of brokenness, the beauty of the gift of Jesus still grows and sparkles and lights up places of joy and shines hope into the pain. Looking back on 2019, I see so many places where God’s glory and promise entered the weariness and brought beauty and healing and hope. In honor of this, I’d thought I’d share some of my favorite photos from 2019 where I witnessed the beauty, or power, or humor, or kindness, or joy, or tenderness, or healing of God in creation. I hope your enjoy this eclectic gallery…with everything from landscape, to still life, to athletics, to portraits, to equestrian As we seek to live Christ-like in our journeys, I am reminded that perspective, kingdom perspective, presence perspective is so important. When we view our circumstances through the lens of Jesus, the lens that remembers his declaration of victory “It is finished,” the lens that remembers he is seated at the right hand of the Father (Hebrews 1:3), the lens that remembers that he is praying on our behalf (John 17:20), the lens that remembers he was and is and is to come, the lens that remembers he is restoring all things (Revelation 21, Acts 3:21)…when we focus on these promises, the darkness begins to tremble for the light sinks and soaks and surrounds us.
The light of Jesus shines into the darkness, into that which is broken and hurting and crying out whispers for us to remember…remember…remember…remember. It is finished. I have come. All will be restored. The light bursts forth. And the darkness trembles. Let’s remember to enter this new decade with a kingdom focus, a presence perspective, seeking the will of the Savior, sharing his light and hope and love and joy, living through the lens of Christ’s victory in 2020.
